REDESIGNING COFFEE LAB’S MENU BOARDS

The client initially requested for hand lettering work from me for the chalkboards at Coffee Lab ANU. However, during the process of coming up with ideas on the flow of the menu, we quickly realised that due to high staff turnover and the inconsistency in hand lettering, the best option would be to create decals to stick onto the existing chalkboards.

THOUGHT PROCESS

In order to create that organic feel of writing on chalkboard, I hand lettered each category on the menu by using Procreate. Then I transferred the artworks into Adobe Illustrator and vectorised them. To add to the effect of chalkboard lettering, I masked a texture over all the artworks. The rest of the layout and product listing I maintained a basic look for readability.

COFFEE LAB SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING AND CONTENT DESIGN

As part of my role in rebranding the visual identity of Coffee Lab ANU, I also managed the creative direction for marketing. This included creating and designing content for Coffee Lab’s social channels, copywriting, in-house photography for both social media and Coffee Lab’s online ordering system, and coming up with collaborative posters and artworks with other brands.
